Pre-season Fixtures 2002/2003

As usual there was an intensive programme of pre-season matches starting early July and going on to the end of August, when the league season started again. We set out below the most important games involving first division clubs. See also our friendly games section for matches played once the season has started. (31.08.02)

6 and 13 Jul Villarreal v Hafnarfjördur
Intertoto cup second round. Villarreal qualified after winning the first leg 2-0 and drawing the second in Iceland 2-2. See separate reports in Intertoto section.
7-19 Jul Málaga pre-season
Pre-season training in Germany and Austria.
Matches against Stuttgart Kickers (9th July: 0-1 (Valdés-pen)), Reutlingen (at Lindau, 14 July: 0-3 (Valdés, Canabal, Edgar)), Kocaelispor (Turkish 1st div, at Vonalbert, 16 July:1-4 (Canabal 2, Duda, Koke)).

Spain's youngsters play warm up games before going on to European championships in Norway later in the month. See separate U19 section for more details.

20 and 27 Jul Intertoto third round
Málaga won their first match 3-0 against Ghent (Belgium) and then drew 1-1. Villarreal lost 2-0 against Torino (Italy) in the first leg but came back to win 2-0 in the second and go through on penalties. Both Spanish sides qualify for the semi-finals. See Intertoto pages for details.

Pre-season training in Kössen, Austria. Matches against Tirol 22 July: W 0-8 (Guiza 3, Raúl, Tuni, Poli, Biagini, Robles), Fenerbahce (Turkish 1st Div, at Kufstein, 24 July: L 3-1 (Riera)), Olympiakos (Greek 1st Div, at Kössen, 26 July: W 2-0 (Paco Soler, Tuni)), Hannover 96 (German 1st Div, at Neustift, 28 July: L 3-1 (F.Soler)) and Wacker Burghausen (German 2nd Div, at Kössen, 30 July: D 0-0).
23 Jul 2002 Celta pre-season
Pre-season training in Northern Italy. 23.07. Triangular "Monte Blanco" tournament: Torino 0-1 Celta (Mostovoi (Pen); Torino 0-0 Parma; Parma 0-2 Celta (Kaviedes, Sergio). Winners: Celta.
24 to 31 Jul 2002 Espanyol pre-season
Pre-season training on the Costa Brava (Perelada near Gerona). Friendly fixtures with Palafrugell (24 Jul: L 2-0), Perelada (27 Jul: W 0-4 (Roger 2, Milosevic, Alex)) and triangular Costa Brava trophy in Gerona, 31 Jul. Gerona 0 - Sporting Lisbon 0; Gerona 0 - Espanyol 1 (Jonathan); Espanyol 1 - Sporting Lisbon 0 (Luque - penalty). Winners: Espanyol.
25 Jul 2002 Alavés v Alicante
Vitoria based side started badly at home against second division B side (L: 0-2).

26-30 Jul 2002 Barcelona pre-season
Pre-season training in Switzerland. Games against Grenoble (26 Jul: L 1-0), Lausanne (28 Jul: W 0-2 (Mendieta, Xavi)) and Servette (30 Jul: W 1-4 (Mendieta, Cocu 2, Dani).
27-31 Jul 2002 Osasuna pre-season
Stay in Spain for initial training. Matches against Racing (27 Jul:L 0-2) and Eibar (31 Jul: D 1-1 (Muñoz - pen).
27 Jul to 3 Aug 2002 Atlético Madrid pre-season
Pre season in Segovia. Friendly game against Gimnastica Segoviana (27 Jul: D 0-0). First serious game against a Porto side who had been training for the last month. L 3-0.
27 Jul to 3 Aug 2002 Valencia pre-season
Pre season training in Holland and Belgium. Friendlies against Genk (27 Jul: W 0-1 (Carew)), Groningen (30 Jul: D 1-1 (Juan Sánchez) and Twente (3 Aug: W 1-2 (Salva, Mista)).

31 Jul. Inmortal 0 - Recreativo Huelva 1. Recre have been playing local teams pre-season, but went on to Albufeira (Portugal) for an unfriendly friendly game. Match abondoned after 75 minutes due to fighting between players. Scorer: Cheli.
4 Aug. Returned to Portugal to play Farense: D 0-0.
31 Jul and 7 Aug 2002 Intertoto semi-finals
Málaga and Villarreal are still in the competition at this stage and going for a place in the UEFA cup. Málaga 2 - Willem II 1 and Villarreal 0 - Troyes 0. Return legs 7 Aug: Willem II 0 - Málaga 1; Troyes 2 - Villarreal 1. Málaga thorugh to the final, Villarreal eliminated.
PS. Troyes disqualified for fielding an unregistered player. Villarreal reinstated and will play Málaga in the final over 2 legs.
1-11 Aug 2002 Athletic Bilbao pre-season in England
Pre-season training at Lezama and in England (1 to 11 August). Matches against Blackpool (2nd div, 2 Aug: D 0-0), Leicester City (1st div, 4 Aug: D 1-1 (Tiko) - inauguration of Leicester's new stadium), Huddersfield Town (1st div, 6 Aug: D 0-0), Bolton(1st div, 8 Aug: W 0-1 (Arriaga)), Everton (Premier div, 10 Aug: W 0-1 (Urzaiz)).
The UK tour has finished without a defeat. The downside was that several players were injured, including Alkiza, Ezquerro and keeper Lafuente, carried off against Everton in a neck brace.
2-4 Aug 2002 Amsterdam Tournament
Ajax, Barcelona, Manchester United and Parma in the annual tournament at the Ajax stadium.
Results 2 Aug: Barcelona 4 - Parma 2 (Geovanni, Riquelme 2, Rochemback); Ajax 2 - Man Utd 1 (Sikora, Zlatan Ibrahimovic / Scholes).
Games 4 Aug: Man Utd 3 - Parma 0; Ajax 4 - Barcelona 3 (Mido, Van der Vaart 2, Witschge / Kluivert, Saviola 2).

2-4 Aug 2002 Bernabeu Tournament, Real Madrid
Centenary trophy between the four sides who have won most European cups in history.
2nd Aug: Real Madrid 2 - Liverpool 0 (Figo, Portillo).
3rd Aug: AC Milan 1 - Bayern Munich 2 (Inzaghi / Tarnat, Scholl)

4th Aug, 3/4 playoff: Liverpool 2 - AC Milan 1 (Simic og, Baros / Tomasson);
Final: Real Madrid 1 - Bayern Munich 2 (Figo-pen / Ballack-pen, Salihamidzic).

3 Aug 2002 Granada v Sevilla
In Las Cármenes, was going to be presentation of Granada to their local fans. However relegation of club to 3rd division for non-payment of debts meant match called off.
3 Aug 2002 Ipswich 2 - Celta 1
Celta Vigo went on to England for friendly at Ipswich, where ex striker Pablo Couñago is now playing. McCarthy gave the Spaniards the lead, but Ipswich came back to win with two goals from Ambrose, helped in part by substitute Couñago.
3 Aug 2002 Sporting Lisbon 3 - Betis 2
Friendly in Portugal. Betis lost thanks to a last minute goal. Alfonso scored twice for the Spaniards.
3 Aug 2002 Extremadura 2 - Rayo Vallecano 2
Rayo made hard work of drawing against team relegated from 2A last season. Alfaro and Pedro José twice gave the home side the lead, and Rayo equalised both times through Bolic and Corino.
3-10 Aug 2002 Alavés pre-season in England
Based in Manchester from end of July for 12 days. Results: Portsmouth, 3 Aug: D 1-1 (Pablo Gómez), Mansfield, 5 Aug: W 0-3 (Navarro 2, Eggen), Middlesborough, 7 Aug: L 3-2 (Juninho, Macarone, Boateng / Astudillo, Jordi Cruyff), Birmingham, 10 Aug: D 1-1 (Hughes / Navarro).
4 Aug 2002 Swindon v Sporting Gijon
Second division side went to England to play a friendly. Match ended in a 2-2 draw.
5 Aug 2002 Olympiakos 4 - Betis 1
Second friendly game in three days. Víctor Fernández gave a chance to the reserves, but they were well beaten. Their only goal came right at the end from Joao Tomas.
5-7 Aug 2002 Espanyol tour of Greece
Visit to Greece rather than UK. First game 5 Aug v OFI Crete: W 2-3 (Maxi 2, Jonathan), then 7 Aug v Panathinaikos: L 2-1 (Soldevilla).
6 Aug 2002 Leganés 0 - Atlético Madrid 1
Annual "Trofeo Villa de Leganés". Match finally played, although Atlético put out a side full of reserves. Only goal came from Dani in the second half.
6-14 Aug 2002 Osasuna friendly games
Friendlies against Sporting Gijón (6 Aug: W 0-1 (Palacios)), Marino (7 Aug: W 0-3 (David og, De Carlos, Iván Rosado), Real Sociedad (10 Aug: D 0-0), Alavés (13 Aug: Burlada, L 0-3 (Iván Alonso 2, Vidrio og)), and Peña Sport (14 Aug: A: D 2-2 (Ochoa, Puñal)).
7 Aug 2002 Newcastle 0 - Barcelona 3
Barça agreed to meet Sir Bobby Robson's team prior to their Champions League qualifiers. Barça won with goals from Kluivert, Saviola and Luis Enrique, and the Newcastle keeper saved a Kluivert penalty near the end.
7 Aug 2002 Valencia 0 - National Bucharest 1
League champions presented their new squad in front of their fans in the Mestalla stadium. Bucharest spoilt the party though with a goal from Petrescu.
7 Aug 2002 Recreativo presentation
Presentation of new squad in Nuevo Colombino stadium. Club promised that it will be spectacular! No match played afterwards though.
7-18 Aug 2002 Celta matches in Portugal
Arranged to play a series of games against sides from neighbouring Portugal as follows: Sporting Lisbon (7 Aug: D 0-0), Benfica (10 Aug: W 0-2 (Kaviedes, Cáceres)) and Vitoria Guimaraes (13 Aug: W 4-0 (Mostovoi 2, 1 pen, Catanha, Yago)).
Triangular tournament in Braga: Porto (16 Aug: W 0-1 (Jesuli)) and Sporting Braga (18 Aug: W 1-3 (Jandro, McCarthy, Sylvinho)). Celta won the tournament.
7-24 Aug 2002 Real Sociedad pre-season
Pre-season based in Tirol, Austria from 22 July. Friendly games v Eibar on 7th August (D 1-1 (Aranburu)), v Osasuna on 10th August in Tolosa (Loren testimonial match - D 0-0), v Numancia on 14th August (W 3-0 (Nihat, De Paula pen, Gabilondo)), v Pachuca (Mex) for their presentation match at home on 17th August (D 0-0).
24 Aug: Atalanta 2 - Real Sociedad 2 (Nihat 2). The Italian side won 6-5 on penalties.
8 Aug 2002 Real Madrid v Roma in USA
Real Madrid 0 - Roma 0. Madrid played a friendly in the United States against Capello's Roma. Venue: Giants' stadium, New Jersey. Casillas shone in goal and Guardiola had a good game for his new club, Roma.
8 Aug 2002 Sevilla presentation v Sunderland
Sevilla 1 - Sunderland 0. Annual fixture where the new season's squad is presented to the fans, this year in a friendly match against Sunderland. Goal from Antoñito in the second half. Sorensen kept out the rest. Sunderland went on to play Algeciras on 10 Aug: L 2-0, Sevilla play Nacional Montevideo in the La Línea trophy near Gibraltar on 11 Aug: W 2-0. See report below.
8-10 Aug 2002 Teresa Herrera trophy, La Coruña
8 Aug: Deportivo 4 - Nacional Montevideo 0 (Víctor 2, Makaay, Djalminha). Depor started their own tournament well, with Valerón on top form.
9 Aug: Atlético Madrid 0 - Cruz Azul 1. Atlético have got off to a bad start in their pre-season games. Only goal from ex Espanyol forward Palencia.
10 Aug, 3/4 play off, Atlético 2 - Nacional 1 (Correa, F Torres / Morales).
Final, Depor 1 - Cruz Azul 0 (Makaay).

9 Aug 2002 Nàstic 2 - Espanyol 1
Presentation of Gimnastic Tarragona. Relegated team put in a good performance against a disappointing Espanyol. Goals from Diego Ribera and Castillejo (pen) for home side and Luque for visitors.
9/10 Aug 2002 Ramón Carranza trophy, Cádiz
Another of the big summer tournaments.
9 Aug: Cádiz 1 - Mallorca 4 (Paz / Marcos, Tuni, Campano, Poli). A young Mallorca side had no trouble beating the second division B hosts, who had Paz sent off.
Valencia 2 - Betis 1 (Salva, De los Santos / Pellegrino og). Valencia dominated, but late own goal made life difficult. Angulo sent off in second half.
10 Aug: 3/4 play off: Cádiz 1 - Betis 2 (Víctor García / Gudjonnson, Casas).
Final: Mallorca 0 - Valencia 0. Mallorca win 3-2 on penalties. See index page for write up.
10 Aug 2002 Alicante 0 - Recreativo Huelva 0
Friendly match on the Costa del Sol between 2B hosts and newly promoted first division side. Recre have still not let in a goal all pre-season, but find it difficult to score.
11 Aug 2002 Sevilla v Nacional Montevideo
Ciudad de la Línea trophy, played in the town on the border with Gibraltar. Sevilla came back again, and played Uruguayan side, who replace Leeds and Brescia.
Sevilla 2 - Nacional 0. Reyes set up Víctor Salas for the first only minutes after coming on at the break, and youngster Oscar added a second later on. Samways made his debut, alongside Torrado in midfield.
11 Aug 2002 Rayo Vallecano v OFK Belgrade
11 Aug. Teresa Rivero trophy, official presentation of Rayo squad. Match ended 0-0, Rayo lost 4-5 on penalty shoot out. Vázquez put out a different side each half, including on-trial players.
Went on to play at Castellón on 13th (D 0-0).
12 Aug 2002 Racing Ferrol 0 - Deportivo La Coruña 1
Trofeo Concepción Arenal. Presentation of Ferrol against Gallician neighbours Deportivo. Irureta tried out some of his lesser used players. Winning goal scored by Changui two minutes from the end. Capdevila sent off.
12 Aug 2002 Betis 1 - Mallorca 1
Hastily arranged friendly match, which served to present the new Betis squad to their fans. Both goals in the first half, with Alfonso scoring for the home side from the penalty spot and Luque equalising five minutes later. Denilson was sent off early on, and then new signing Lussenhoff was shown red for a tackle on Joaquín. The bad news for Mallorca was that Lussenhoff broke his leg in the tackle and will be out for several months.
13 and 27 Aug 2002 Intertoto final
Villarreal and Málaga meet for a place in the UEFA cup.
First leg 13 Aug: Villarreal 0 - Málaga 1 (Gerardo).
Second leg 27 Aug: Málaga 1 - Villarreal 1 (Roteta / Aranda).

14 and 28 Aug 2002 Champions' League third qualifying round
Barcelona were the only Spanish team to enter at this qualifying stage.
14 Aug: Comfortable 3-0 victory against Legia Warsaw (Poland) in the first leg in the Nou Camp (De Boer, Riquelme, Cocu).
28 Aug: Won the away leg 0-1 to qualify for the league stage together with Valencia, Deportivo and Real Madrid (Mendieta pen).

14 Aug 2002 Valencia 5 - Nacional de Montevideo 2
Traditional Orange trophy in their own stadium, this year against Uruguayan side. Goals from Vicente, Fabio Aurelio, Carew, Marchena and Juan Sánchez for the Spaniards. Webo scored twice for the visitors.
14-16 Aug 2002 Colombino trophy, Huelva
Once again Recreativo hosted this tournament, the 38th time the competition has been played. Promotion to first division made it more interesting this time though. Semi-finals:
14 Aug: Recre 2 - Espanyol 1 (Oscar Arpón pen, Raúl Molina / Martín Posse).
15 Aug: Sevilla 1 - Atlético Madrid 1 (Antoñito / F Torres) Atlético win 6-7 on penalties. Sevilla's Javi Navarro sent off.
16 Aug: 3/4 play off: Espanyol 0 - Sevilla 3. (Moisés 2, Redondo)
Final: Recreativo 0 - Atlético Madrid 1 (Colsa). Recre ended with nine men after Alex and Loren sent off. Winners: Atlético Madrid.
14-17 Aug 2002 Valladolid in Asturias
Two friendly games arranged against the top teams in Asturias.
14 Aug: Oviedo 2 - Valladolid 0. (Losada, Rubén).
17 Aug: Sporting Gijon 2 - Valladolid 2. (Lozano, Villa pen / Caminero pen, Pachón). Valladolid won on penalties.
15-24 Aug 2002 Real Madrid friendly games
Play three friendlies in mid - August:
15 Aug: Bahía trophy in Cartagena (Spain). Real Madrid 0 - Betis 2.
A first half shot from outside of the area by Assunçao and a second half penalty by Alfonso after Casillas was ruled to have brought down Joaquín gave Betis the trophy.
17 Aug: Lisbon (Portugal): Benfica 2 - Real Madrid 3.
Madrid came from behind twice with goals from Figo (free kick) and Miñambres, and substitute Portillo scored the winner near the end.
24 Aug: Alicante (Spain). Real Madrid 5 - Dynamo Bucharest 2.
Drawing two apiece after an hour with goals from Raúl and Hierro (penalty), then Portillo came on for the last half hour to score twice, and Savio rounded things off with a late penalty.
16-18 Aug 2002 Teide trophy, Canary Isles
Four way tournament involving Tenerife, Las Palmas, Rayo Vallecano and Real Madrid B (who are defending champions), played at grounds of La Orotava and Los Realejos.
16 Aug: Tenerife 2 - Real Madrid B 2 (Javi López 2 / Nuñez, Chupe). Real Madrid B won on penalties.
17 Aug: Las Palmas 1 - Rayo 0 (Socorro)
18 Aug: 3/4 play-off: Tenerife 1 - Rayo 0 (Barata). 18 Aug:
Final. Las Palmas 0 - Real Madrid B 2 (Luis García 2).
Winners: Real Madrid B once again.
17 Aug 2002 Numancia 2 - Alavés 0
The Caja Duero trophy at Numancia's home ground, Los Pajaritos stadium in the town of Soria. Numancia won easily against a disappointing Alavés.
17 Aug 2002 Granada 1 - Málaga 0
Warm up game arranged for the Intertoto cup finalists against local rivals in the South of Spain. Fund raiser for the local side, who were relegated to the third division for non-payment of debts. Málaga put out a side packed with reserves and lost thanks to a goal from Aranda in the first half.
Also played Jaén away on 22 Aug: W 1-4 (Musampa 2, Dely Valdés, Miguel Angel).
18-25 Aug 2002 Athletic Bilbao 1 - Roma 1
"Homenage al socio" (literally tribute to the members) match which is played every pre-season. Roma were the opponents this year. Early goal from Julen Guerrero for Athletic cancelled out by strike from Batistuta for Roma.
20 Aug: Drew 0-0 away at Racing Santander. Etxeberria injured.
24 Aug: Drew 0-0 away at Real Unión. Reserve players used.
25 Aug: Zaragoza 2 - Athletic 1 (Generelo, David Pirri / Javi González).
18 and 25 Aug 2002 Spanish Supercup
Two leg fixture between league champions Valencia and cup winners Deportivo La Coruña. First game in La Coruña on 18 Aug: Depor 3 - Valencia 0. Return leg in Valencia on 25 Aug: Valencia 0 - Depor 1. Winners Depor. See supercup pages for details.
19-24 Aug 2002 Osasuna presentation
19 Aug: City of Pamplona trophy. Presentation of team from Pamplona against Mexican rivals. Osasuna 1 - Pachuca 1. Late goal from Moha saved a draw, but Puchuca won the game after a penalty shoot-out.
Last match v Atlético Madrid (24 Aug: W 2-3 (F Torres 2 / Rosado 2, Ochoa)). Atlético lead 2-0 at half time, but after Aragonés made 9 changes Osasuna came back.
20 Aug 2002 Valladolid v Deportivo La Coruña
Ciudad de Valladolid trophy. Valladolid 0 - Depor 0. Valladolid won on penalties. Presentation of home side. Lack of cash means Valladolid pre-season spent at home, with friendlies against lower division sides.
24 Aug: Salamanca 1 - Valladolid 0 (Raúl Sánchez).
20 Aug 2002 Celta 3 - PSG 1
City of Vigo tournament. Friendly against French side Paris Saint Germain, managed by ex Athletic Bilbao boss Luis Fernández. Goals from Catanha (2) and Luccin.
Went on to play 3rd division side Guardés. W 1-5 (Jandro 2, Doriva, Olaiz, McCarthy).
25 Aug: Ourense 0 - Celta 1 (Catanha).
20 Aug 2002 U21 friendly: Hungary 0 - Spain 1
Budapest. Curtain raiser for the full international the following day. Spain won with a goal from Reyes. See separate report in under-21 section.
20 Aug 2002 Novelda 1 - Villarreal 3
Warm up games against second division sides in preparation for return leg of Intertoto final.
20 Aug: Novelda 1 - Villarreal 3 (Aranda, Guayre, Palermo).
22 Aug: Almería 1 - Villarreal 1. (Francisco / Arruabarrena). Almería won on penalties.
20-24 Aug 2002 Espanyol friendly games
20 Aug. Espanyol fitted in another friendly at local second division B side Lleida. Final score: Lleida 0 - Espanyol 2 (Velamazán, Luque). After 4 losses in a row, they needed to win this one.
Went on to play at Figueres (also 2B) on 22 Aug: D 1-1 (Jonathan). before presentation match in Montjuic on 24th (see report below).
20-26 Aug 2002 Getafe 1 - Rayo Vallecano 4
Rayo played away against local rivals, recently promoted to the second division A. A flattering result, with goals from Bolic, Marqués and two from Michel II. Estevez replied for the home side.
Also played Alcalá. W 0-5 (Michel II 2, Peragón, Bolic, Pulido). Final pre-season game at Ponferradina (24 Aug: L 2-1 (Azkoitia)).
20-27 Aug 2002 Atlético Madrid friendly matches
Pre-season friendlies at Murcia (20 Aug: W 2-3 (Dani, Luis García, Colsa)) and Osasuna (24 Aug in Burgo de Osma: L 2-3 (F Torres 2 / Rosado 2, Ochoa)).
Presentation match (Villa de Madrid trophy), 27 Aug.
Atlético 2 - Chievo Verona 4. Atleti leading at half time with goals from Luis García and Albertini, with Corini scoring in between for the visitors. However second half goals from Corini, Bierhoff and Cossato gave the Italians the trophy.

22-6 Aug 2002 Betis friendly games
22 Aug: Betis 2 - Catania 2. Presentation of Betis against Italian side, who replaced Udinese at last moment. Bucchi scored twice for the visitors before Betis woke up and came back with goals from Casas and Capi after the break. Joaquín and Denilson were on international duty.
26 Aug: Betis 6 - Dynamo Bucharest 0. (Arzu 2, Alfonso, Capi, Damciulescu og, Casas). Another hastily arranged friendly to finish off the season. A great performance from what could be their starting line up in the league.
23 Aug 2002 Gamper tournament, FC Barcelona
Barcelona in-house trophy, was scheduled against Benfica. However as Portuguese league starts the day after, new opponents were Red Star Belgrade.
Barça 1 - Red Star 0. Headed goal by Rochemback from Riquelme free kick late in the game was just enough in a boring game. Barça win the trophy for the 8th year in a row.
23 Aug 2002 Lazio 2 - Alavés 1
Alavés replaced Celta in Lazio's presentation game. Fiore and Claudio López gave the Romans a two goal lead before Téllez headed a late consolation goal.
The following day a team made up of reserves drew 0-0 at Calahorra. Match abandoned near the end due to a rainstorm.
23 Aug 2002 Las Palmas 0 - Sevilla 1
Presentation of Las Palmas at their Insular stadium against Vinny Samway's new team. Early goal by Casquero spoilt the party. Fans booed their president for letting star players go.
Sevilla played last pre-season game at local side Benacazón on 27 Aug. They won 0-13 with five goals from Moisés.
24 Aug 2002 Ciutat de Barcelona trophy
Espanyol's annual presentation, played against Italy's revelation side from last season, Chievo Verona. A rough game played in a downpour which ended in 0-0 draw. Chievo ended the match with two men sent off near the end, but won the penalty shoot out 3-5.
27 Aug 2002 Terrassa 1 - Espanyol 1
First trophy of foundation of Terrassa against local first division rivals. As Betis game is off, this was official presentation of newly promoted 2nd division A side. Another disappointing performance from Espanyol. Terrassa took the lead through Monty, but Martín Posse levelled the scores later on.
30 Aug 2002 Real Madrid 3 - Feyenoord 1
European Supercup final between Champions League winners Real Madrid and UEFA cup winners Feyenoord, played in Monaco. Goals by Paauwe (og), Roberto Carlos and Guti gave Madrid their first ever Super Cup title. Van Hooydonk replied for the Dutch side. See separate section for full report.
