Euro 2012 qualifier

Liechtenstein 0 - Spain 4

European and World champions Spain got off to a comfortable start in their opening match of the new European campaign in Liechtenstein. Fernando Torres signalled his return to form, lobbing Jehle to open the scoring with just over a quarter of an hour gone, and David Villa added the second with a long shot a few minutes late. Local keeper Jehle made two or three good saves from Torres and Villa to prevent the scoreline from increasing before the break. But Torres netted a third after half time substitute Fábregas set him up soon after the restart, and Silva completed the scoring after picking up a pass from Busquets soon afterwards. Del Bosque's side now go on to play a friendly against Argentina next Tuesday. (03.09.10)
