Real Madrid are already looking good for a place in the knock-out stage after they beat Ajax 3-0 on Tuesday night, their second win in a row in the competition. The Dutch side were not overawed by their opponents, and in the opening minutes Casillas had to save from Eriksen and Sigthorsson went close. But midway through the first half Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring after a quick passing move out of defence, and Kaká added a second shortly before the break after Ronaldo set him up. Three minutes after the restart Benzema made it three, again after a quick counter-attack, and after that Madrid pulled in the horns. Ajax didn't give up though, and Casillas had to make two or three saves before the final whistle, including a spectacular stop from a Vertonghen header late on.
