Real Madrid are all but sure of a place in the knock out stage after a 4-0 victory over Olympique Lyon on Tuesday, their third win in a row in the competition. The French side had been a bogey-team for Madrid in the past, but under Mourinho they have not lost, and Ronaldo went close a couple of times before heading over Özil's corner for Benzema to open the scoring. Gomis had a goal ruled out for offside, but otherwise Lyon didn't trouble Casillas, and Lloris had to be at his best to keep out an Özil free kick before the break. Soon after the restart though Benzema set up Khedira for his first goal for the club, and a few minutes later Lloris turned a shot from wide out by Özil in to his own net. Later in the second half Ronaldo had a strike ruled out as it his the offside Kaká before going in, but Sergio Ramos wrapped things up near the end following a Kaká corner, the defender reacting faster than his two markers to latch on to the loose ball and drive a shot past the keeper.
