Valencia are out of this year's Champions League after falling to a 3-0 defeat at Chelsea. Unai Emery's side needed a score draw to go through, but they found themselves behind in only the fourth minute when Drogba picked up a pass from Juan Mata to beat Diego Alves with an angled shot. Jordi Alba hit the post at the other end and Albelda brought a good save out of Cech, but midway through the first half Ramires ran past Víctor Ruíz to pick up a Drogba pass and squeeze a shot past the keeper. Feghouli in particular tested Cech again either side of half time, with Sturridge doing likewise against Alves for the locals, but Drogba went close before connecting with another Mata assist to make it three. Valencia were out, and the thought of playing Europa League football from now on is little consolation.
