Spain won their first Euro 2012 warm up game, beating Serbia 2-0 in Switzerland, although with Barcelona, Athletic Bilbao and Chelsea players still missing from the squad it not much of an indication of what is to come. No less than five youngsters made their full international debut, Juanfran starting the match and Adrián, Domínguez, Beñat and Javi García coming on in the second half. De Gea and Isco missed out however, and they will be returning to Spain to join the under 21 side for the European qualifier in Estonia.

Del Bosque's side were on top right from the start, Negredo going close a couple of times and Cazorla almost catching Kahriman off his line with a shot from inside his own half. Osasuna's Lekic gave the Spanish defence a wake up call when he turned the ball past Casillas only to be pulled up for a borderline offside, but Xabi Alonso restored the calm with a free kick which just went over the bar.

After the restart substitutes David Silva and Adrián combined well for the Atlético Madrid striker to shoot just wide, and with twenty minutes on the clock he got on the end of a Jesús Navas cross to head his first ever goal for "la selección". Ten minutes later Adrián fell inside the area under a challenge from Chelsea's Ivanovic, and Cazorla stepped up to convert the resulting spot kick.

Del Bosque is expected to name his official squad for the European championships tomorrow, and it remains to be seen whether any of the new boys have done enough to make it in to the final twenty-three. (26.05.12)
