Spanish international squad

Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alcántara has been called up by Vicente Del Bosque for Spain's friendly international against Italy next Wednesday. Thiago, whose father Mazinho played for Brazil, was one of the stars of Spain's European Championship winning under 21 side. Javi Martínez and Mata return to the full squad after playing for the under 21s, and Xavi is also back after missing the June friendlies due to an injury. (05.08.11)

Defenders: Iraola (Athletic Bilbao), Piqué (Barcelona), Arbeloa, Raúl Albiol and Sergio Ramos (all Real Madrid);
Midfielders: Javi Martínez (Athletic Bilbao), Busquets, Iniesta, Thiago and Xavi (all Barcelona), Cazorla (Málaga), David Silva (Manchester City), Xabi Alonso (Real Madrid);
Forwards: Llorente (Athletic Bilbao), David Villa and Pedro (both Barcelona), Fernando Torres (Chelsea), Negredo (Sevilla), Mata (Valencia).
