Transfer activity continues despite the strike, and with just over a week to go to the deadline, things are starting to hot-up. Atlético Madrid decided not wait until their Europa League qualifier before spending the money they got for Kun Agüero, signing Porto's top goalscorer Falcao for a fixed fee of around €40 million, plus additional variables if he helps them win La Liga or the Champions League over the next four seasons. As part of the deal they were forced to fork out €5 million more for Rubén Micael, but as he didn't fit in with Manzano's plans he will be loaned out to Zaragoza. The Maños themselves are probably grateful for the strike as they are still building their squad, with Zuculini and Meira arriving this week as well. Elsewhere Güiza will be returning to Spain to rejoin one of his old sides Getafe, and Mata has been sold to Fernando Torres's Chelsea. In a little over 12 months the Ches have offloaded their four World Cup winners, Mata, Villa, Silva and Marchena, bringing in over €100 million to help them sort out their financial problems.
