Europa League, day 1

Spain's Europa League sides showed their senior colleagues how to do it as both won their opening games on Thursday night. Athletic Bilbao were first to kick off, and they came away from Slovan Bratislava with a 1-2 win. Under 21 international Muniain was the star of the night, combining with Llorente to set up Susaeta for the opener early on, and then scoring an impressive winner after Guede had equalised for the locals. Later in the evening Atlético Madrid beat Celtic 2-0, with new boys Falcao and Diego getting the goals, the first an early header from Diego's corner, and the second after Turan set him up midway through the second half.
