Atlético Madrid rounded off the group stage with a 3-1 win over Rennes, confirming their place at the top of their group with a total of thirteen points. Falcao opened the scoring from the penalty spot late in the first half after Mandjeck brought down Adrián in the area, and Domínguez headed the second from Diego's free kick shortly before the half time whistle. With ten minutes to go to the end Arda Turan wrapped things up with a third goal, and Mandjeck headed a late consolation for the French side from Brahimi's corner. It was not all a bed of roses for coach Gregorio Manzano though, and despite the win the disappointingly small crowd chanted throughout the match for his dismissal after a string of poor recent results.
