Valencia will meet PSV Eindhoven in the next round of the competition after beating Stoke City 2-0 on aggregate. Already a goal up from the first leg, Dani Parejo came close to increasing the lead when he hit the bar with a well struck free kick in the first minute. Jones came up against Guaita a couple of times at the other end, but midway through the first half Jonas latched on to Pablo Hernández's pass to open the scoring for the locals. Guaita still had some work to do as the Premier League side tried to stay in it, but Parejo brought a good save out of Sorensen after the restart, and Soldado missed a good chance to wrap things up late on.
