Atlético Madrid are through to a semi-final meeting with Valencia after beating Hannover 1-2 in their second leg tie. After the 2-1 result in the first leg, a single goal victory for the German side would have taken them through. However they hardly caused any problems for Courtois in the first half, and a few minutes after the restart Adrián collected a long ball from Diego and left two defenders and the keeper for dead before coolly slotting the ball in to the net. With ten minutes to go though Diouf equalised after Godín could only head a long throw back to him, and only quick reactions from Courtois prevented the striker from taking the game into extra time after that. But with three minutes to go Diego won the ball back on the edge of the area and chipped a pass over for Falcao to volley a shot past Zieler. There was no way back for Hannover, and Atlético are still on track to get back the trophy they won just a couple of seasons ago.
