Under 21 friendly international

Italy 1 - Spain 3

A successful warm-up game for Spain's under 21 side prior to next summer's European Championship, Julen Lopetegui's team beating Italy 1-3 in Siena. The youngsters took the lead on the quarter hour mark when Rodrigo ran on to Koke's through ball to round Bardi and score, his twelfth goal in ten appearances at this level, and Deulofeu started and finished a move with Sarabia shortly before the break for the second. The introduction of Longo at half time improved things for the locals, and the Espanyol striker got one back a few minutes after coming on. Mariño was called upon a couple of times and Illarramendi cleared a shot by De Sciglio off the line with the keeper beaten, but with the game in injury time Muniain put Alvaro Vázquez away for him to wrap things up.
