Levante kept up their push for a place in the knock-out stage after a 3-0 win over Dutch league leaders Twente, and they ended the day in second spot, some four points clear of their opponents. Steve McClaren's side caused some problems early on though, with Chadli rattling the crossbar and Tadic beating Kelyor Navas with a long shot only for the strike to be ruled out by the Russian referee for the positional offside of a colleague. Soon after the restart Navas had to be at his best to turn an effort from Rosales away for a corner, but soon afterwards Douglas cut out a Nikos pass with his arm, and Michel tucked home the resulting penalty. That took the wind out of Twente's sails, and Mihaylov had to keep out a Michel free kick before Pedro Ríos slid in a second after Diop and Michel combined to set him up. With two minutes to go Ríos made it three after the visiting keeper could only push out a shot from Rubén García, and although the referee turned down the Dutch side's protests that the midfielder had controlled the ball with his arm, it wouldn't have made much difference if he had disallowed the goal. Levante were never going to let this one get away!
