Breaking news: Bale deal confirmed by Real Madrid and Spurs!

Only two days to go to the end of the transfer window, and if only a tenth of the current rumours are fulfilled we are in for a very busy day on Monday! We don't need to tell anyone that the Bale deal still has to be formalized, although it appears to be just bloody-mindedness by Tottenham president Daniel Levy which is delaying it right to the end, and Spurs themselves have already spent the €100 million or so transfer money. Who if anyone will be leaving Madrid as a result is still a doubt, with Coentrao the only (near) certainty, and Kaká now saying he wants to go. Milan are currently favourites to re-sign him.

Elsewhere Atlético Madrid, Sevilla, Espanyol and Rayo Vallecano have been the big movers on the market this week, with Atleti making a windfall profit on Demichelis, bringing him in free and selling him on for around €5 million to Manchester City (albeit still pending official confirmation), and signing Alderweireld to replace him. Guilavogui also seems to be tied up, and they may add Kagawa or someone similar to their squad too before the deadline. Sevilla and Espanyol have made good money as well selling Kondogbia and Wakaso, the former bringing in M'Bia and the latter Alex Fernández as replacements, and Rayo have strengthened their squad with Zé Castro, Iago Falqué, Seba Fernández and Jonathan Viera. Many, many names are still floating around though, and with the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal on the prowl we expect to see a lot more moves before midnight on Monday. (30.08.13)
