Under 21 Euro qualifier

Spain 4 - Albania 0

Spain's new under 21 side top their group already after a 4-0 win against Albania on Monday night. After a 2-6 win in Austria Lopetegui's team were odds on favourites against an opponent who had already lost to all the other group members. However they didn't have it all their own way at first, and there were a couple of nervous moments before Deulofeu found a gap down the right flank to set up team captain Muniain for the opener. Seven minutes in to the second half Muniain got his second of the night, curling a shot past Strakosha after Sergi Roberto set him up, and Morata brought a good save out of the visiting keeper before combining with Real Madrid team mate Dani Carvajal to net the third, his ninth goal in the brief time he has worn an under 21 shirt. Jesé came on test Strakosha again before working a quick passing move with Carles Gil to make it four, and Sarabia and Deulofeu both came close to a fifth near the end. A 28th game without defeat though for the youngsters under Julen Lopetegui, including 26 wins, and it would take a brave man to bet against them winning the trophy for a third time in a row.
