A 2-1 defeat for Real Madrid in their first leg tie at Juventus, although the away goal they scored leaves the tie in the balance for the return match in the Bernabeu stadium next week. Morata gave the Italians the lead against his old side after Casillas could only push out a shot from Tévez in the ninth minute, and for a short while it looked as if they could go further ahead. However Kroos brought a good save out of Buffon, and Varane and Ronaldo went close, and with just under half an hour gone Ronaldo headed the equalizer after James hooked the ball across from right of the area. With the first half coming to a close James headed Isco’s cross against the bar with the keeper beaten, but a quarter of an hour into the second half Tévez put the locals back in front from the penalty spot after Carvajal brought down the Argentinian forward in the area. Substitute Fernando Llorente caused a couple of problems after that, but in the end both coaches settled for the result.
