Spanish international squad

Vicente Del Bosque named a 24 man squad today for the upcoming friendly game against Costa Rica and European qualifier with Belarus. Sevilla’s Sergio Rico and Aleix Vidal were called up for the first time, and there were recalls for Paco Alcácer and Nolito. Out though for various reasons go Sergio Asenjo, Raúl Albiol, Mario Suárez and Juanmi. Bayern Munich’s Thiago was due to be called up as well, but he suffered a relapse of his injury, and Chelsea’s Diego Costa was not considered fit enough after his recent injury lay-off. Juanmi was however asked by Del Bosque to join the squad for pre-match training together with four uncapped youngsters, Saúl Ñíguez (Atlético), Jonny (Celta), Duarte (Espanyol) and Gayà (Valencia).
