Villarreal made it into the next round of the Europa League after coming from behind to win 1-3 at Salzburg. Djuricin opened the scoring for the home side after Costa blocked a previous shot from Sabitzer, giving the Austrians the lead in the tie thanks to the away goal they scored in the first leg. However Vietto went close a few minutes later, and with just over half an hour gone he got on the end of a long Jonathan Dos Santos free kick to head the equalizer past Gulacsi. Both teams had chances after that, but with a quarter of an hour to go substitute Giovani got free on a quick counter-attack and passed across for Vietto to score into an empty net. That meant Salzburg had to score three to turn things around, and just three minutes later Vietto returned the favour for Giovani to wrap things up with a shot inside the near post.
