Sevilla are through to defend their title after drawing 2-2 at Zenit St. Petersburg in their second leg match! Bacca opened the scoring from the penalty spot early on after Vitolo was brought down by Luis Neto in the area, opening up a two goal cushion after the 2-1 victory in the first leg. Danny fired a shot against the post before the break though, and just a couple of minutes after the restart Beto (playing his first match after a long injury lay-off) dropped Shatov’s centre at the feet of Rondón, who had the easiest of tap-ins. Coke missed a chance at the other end, but with twenty minutes to go a speculative shot by Hulk from wide out on the right caught the keeper off his line, and although he got a hand to the ball, he could only push it over the line. The Russian side pushed forward after that, Beto making up in part for his mistake with good saves from Hulk and Rondón. However with extra time looming substitute Gameiro drilled an angled shot past Lodygin after Iborra stepped over Vitolo’s cross to put the game out of reach of the locals.
