Latest transfers

Almost a month since our last report, but although many transfers have gone through, none of those have been really mind-blowing. Real Madrid did sign Espanyol keeper Kiko Casilla in the end, but as we write they may still tie up De Gea, which could put the place of Keylor Navas in jeopardy (he may even go to Old Trafford in part-exchange?). Manchester United could well spend the money on the unsettled Pedro, although Barcelona are keen to hold on to him, especially in the light of the transfer ban.

Meanwhile everybody managed to sort out their debts before the July end deadline, with a new Elche management reaching a last minute agreement with their players to avoid a second drop to the third level. Many of their squad have left though (Real Sociedad for example snapping up striker Jonathas), and as things stand they cannot register any new players until they sort out further debts with Sevilla and Nàstic. As a result they may have to compete in the second division with youth team players and reserves.

The summer deadline doesn’t close though until 30 th August, so expect a lot more news as teams rush to complete their squads before it is too late. (01.08.15)
