Under 21 Euro 2017 qualifier

Estonia 0 - Spain 2

Spain’s new under 21 side began their European campaign with a late 0-2 victory in Estonia. An ultra defensive home side held on for much of the match though as Albert Celades’ team gave it their best, Munir bringing a couple of good saves out of Tamme, and Bellerín rattling the upright before the break, and the local keeper making the stop of the night from Oliver Torres after the restart. Kepa had to keep out a Liivak free kick though as the hosts grew in confidence, and it was not until eight minutes from the end that a persistent Deulofeu laid the ball across from the by-line for Gayà to turn a shot into the net. That took the pressure off, and with the game in injury time Deulofeu made it two from the penalty spot after Paju pulled down Munir in the area. (02.09.15)
