International Matches - Under 18

XLII Atlantic Cup invitation tournament

Gran Canaria. Spain’s under 18 side only came second to France in this year’s Atlantic tournament, a competition which they have won eight times in the last nine years. Luis de la Fuente’s side beat USA in their first match, Dani Olmo the scorer late on in the first half, and then won 3-1 against hosts the Canary Isles, Jony Montiel opening the scoring with a well struck free kick and then adding a second before Rubén wrapped things up aftert the break. However they could only draw 0-0 in their last match against France (who had Lucas Zidane, son of Zinedine, keeping goal), and they had to settle for the runners up spot on goal difference.
