Real Madrid came from a goal down to beat Napoli 3-1 on Wednesday evening, a result which stands them in good stead going in to the return leg in Italy. Insigne caught Keylor Navas out of position with a long shot early on, but Benzema headed the equalizer from a Carvajal cross just ten minutes afterwards. Later in the first half Ronaldo, Benzema and Hamsik went close at either end, but soon after the restart Kroos scored a second after Ronaldo laid the ball back, and Casemiro volleyed a spectacular third past Reina just five minutes later. Ronaldo, Marcelo, Casemiro and Modric all fired shots wide after that, but another away goal could have complicated things for Zidane’s side, and in the last few minutes Callejón had a strike ruled out for offside and Ghoulam, Mertens and Insigne all failed to convert chances.
