Spanish international squads

Spain coach Julen Lopetegui named a 23 man squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Italy and Albania. There are recalls for Iniesta (injured last time out), Sergio Rico, Nacho and Callejón, with Adrián, Bartra, Azpilicueta and Alcácer left out, and Marco Asensio dropping to the under 21 squad for their Euro qualifiers against San Marino and Estonia. Albert Celades has also included Rubén Blanco, Vallejo, Marcos Llorente and Samu Castillejo for those games, and has dropped Pau López, Diego González, Samper and Santi Mina. Full squads as below. PS. Javi Martínez pulled out of the squad due to an injury, and his namesake Iñigo Martínez (Real Sociedad) has been called up to replace him. And Manchester United’s uncapped midfielder Ander Herrera has also been added as Saúl Ñíguez is carrying a knock. (03.10.16)

PPS. Jordi Alba picked up an injury in the match against Italy, and he has been replaced by Arsenal's Nacho Monreal for the second game in Albania. Albert Celades has also included Leganés left back Adrián Marín in his under 21 squad as Grimaldo has pulled out with a groin strain. (07.10.16)
