Friendly international

England 2 - Spain 2

Spain fought back with two goals right at the end of their friendly game in Wembley Stadium to draw 2-2 against England. Lopetegui used the occasion to give a run out to some of his second choice players, with only Caravajal, Nacho, Busquets and Silva repeating from the line-up against Macedonia three days ago. However with only nine minutes gone Lallana opened the scoring from the penalty spot after Reina brought down Vardy in the area, and Vardy himself headed the second from Henderson’s cross at the start of the second half. Reina had to keep out Vardy soon afterwards, and Nacho cleared off the line from Sterling with the keeper beaten. Koke and Morata tested Heaton later on the second half however, and with a minute of normal time remaining debutant Isco Aspas picked up a pass from Morata and curled a shot in off the far post. That silenced the crowd, and with the match in the fifth and final minute of injury time Isco controlled a pass from Real Madrid team-mate Carvajal on his chest before turning a shot under the legs of the local keeper.
