Barcelona made it two wins out of two after a 0-1 victory at Sporting Lisbon on Wednesday. The Catalans had the better of the first half but they had their problems finding the net, Sergi Roberto and Messi in particular coming up against Rui Patricio. The only goal came at the start of the second half when Coates put through his own net after Luis Suárez headed on a wide Messi free kick, and although Luis Suárez and Paulinho tested the keeper again after that, only a good save by Ter Stegen prevented Bruno Fernandes from saving a point later on.
