Atlético Madrid are in to the semi-finals of the Europa League after beating Sporting Lisbon 2-1 on aggregate, although the result was in doubt until the final whistle after the Portuguese side responded to the 2-0 defeat from last week with a 1-0 victory on the night. Montero headed the only goal for the locals from a Bruno Fernandes cross on the half hour mark, and Oblak had to make several saves after that, and Simeone’s side hardly had a shot at goal until Griezmann went close a couple of times in the dying minutes.
