Europa League, round of 32, first leg

A great night for La Liga sides in the Europa League, with three wins and a draw away from home for the four still in the competition. Sevilla won 0-1 at Lazio, Ben Yedder getting on the end of Sarabia’s cross to score the only goal midway through the first half, and Villarreal won by the same scoreline at Sporting Lisbon, Alfonso Pedraza the scorer there after Chukwueze set him up in the third minute. That was Villarreal’s first victory in two months. Valencia also clocked up a 0-2 win at Celtic, Cheryshev combining with new signing Rubén Sobrino to open the scoring just before the break, and the two reversing roles for Sobrino to turn in the second soon after the restart. And Betis came back from two goals down to draw 3-3 at Rennes, Lainez saving the draw in the last minute after Lo Celso and Sidnei had netted for the visitors. (14.02.19)
