A sad end to Spain's participation in the Olympic Games, Luis Milla's returning home without having scored a single goal after drawing their last match 0-0 with Morocco. The North African side were still in with a chance of qualifying, and they put up a good fight against a much changed line-up. Once again though Spain were unlucky in front of goal, Adrián hitting the post before the break and the crossbar after the restart, and Oriol having a good effort deflected just wide. An end to the dream though, and the one-time favourites finish last in their group.
