Zaragoza beat Espanyol 2-1 on Sunday afternoon thanks to two goals from Luis García, who last season was captaining the Perequitos. Rubén Micael missed the easiest of chances before Luis García headed Lafita's cross down past Cristian Alvarez on the half hour mark. But Javi Márquez and Raúl Baena both went close either side of half time, and midway through the second half a long cross from Javi lópez bounced past everyone in to the net. Soon afterwards though López was sent off for a second bookable offence after giving away a penalty on Lafita, and although Alvarez did well to save Luis García's spot kick, the keeper couldn't prevent his ex-colleague from scoring the winner in the first minute of injury time.
