Espanyol stay in sixth spot after were held to a 1-1 draw at Betis on Thursday evening. Pochettino's team were thankful for a point in the end however as late substitute Pandiani scored the equaliser in the third minute of injury time. The Catalans had had the better of things after a dull first half, with Fabricio having to keep out long shots from Albín, Romaric and Coutinho. But Rubén Castro got on the end of a Jonathan Pereira cross to head the opener past Kiko Casilla, and it looked as if they were going to take the three points until Pandiani struck.
