A thrilling match in the Mestalla stadium on Saturday evening, with Deportivo coming back from two down to draw 3-3 against Valencia. The locals appeared to have things wrapped up early on, Soldado opening the scoring after running on to a Jonas through ball in the eleventh minute, and then combining with Tino Costa and Jonas to volley a shot past Aranzubia. Riki had a goal ruled out for a borderline offside, and Abel Aguilar got one back following a Bruno Gama corner, but Feghouli restored the two goal cushion after picking up a Dani Parejo assist, and only a brave stop from Aranzubia prevented Soldado from completing his hat-trick. The visiting keeper had to be replaced by Lux at the break, but the new man had little to do after the restart, and Aguilar scored his second of the night on the hour mark after Athami crossed the ball in to the area. And with a quarter of an hour to go Ricardo Costa was shown a second yellow card for a foul on substitute Nelson Oliveira, and Pizzi stepped up to drive home the resulting penalty.
