Athletic Bilbao are up to fifth, now level on points with fourth placed Villarreal after a 2-2 draw against Elche, although they had to come back from two goals down to do so. Lombán headed the visitors in to the lead in only the sixth minute, and Fidel came close to a second when he fired a shot against the bar minutes later. Laporte headed a couple of chances wide and Toquero tested the Manu Herrera with an acrobatic overhead kick, but just a couple of minutes in to the second half the visitors went two up, Aarón Ñíguez turning a shot past Herrerín when the ball fell to him after Carles Gil was tackled on the edge of the area. Susaeta volleyed one back however from Muniain's long cross a few minutes later, and substitute Aduríz headed in Beñat's corner with twenty minute to go to keep up the Basque side's unbeaten record in their new stadium.
