Villarreal beat regional rivals Levante 1-0 on Saturday evening, the win taking them back up to sixth place in the table. Marcelino’s side had only won one of their last seven games, and although Pereira tested Keylor Navas with a deflected shot in the opening minutes, Víctor Casadesús went close with a header a few minutes later. The visitors started the second half strongly, Angel and Diop bringing good saves out of Sergio Asenjo with long shots, and Rubén García firing another long effort just over the top. Navas had to keep out a long shot from Trigueros though, and Mario turned another shot just wide of the post after a good run by Aquino. The game appeared to be heading for a draw though until the fifth minute of time added on, when Perbet got on the end of a wide Trigueros free kick to steer a header in to the far corner of the net for a much needed victory.
