Levante are now at the foot of the table after losing 0-4 to Real Sociedad in the Sunday mid-day game, a defeat which cost the job of coach Lucas Alcaráz, who was fired later in the day. Carlos Vela fired a shot wide before picking up an Agirretxe assist to battle through and score the opener in the eighth minute. Rulli had to keep out Roger a few minutes later, but with ten minutes to go to the break Agirretxe made it two, the striker losing his markers to head Vela’s cross past Rubén. The local keeper had to save a Zurutuza header soon afterwards, and at the other end Roger headed against the bar, and Deyverson came up against Rulli either side of half time. However with eight minutes left on the clock Illarremendi deflected a Chory Castro into the net for the third, and two minutes later Vela chipped in the fourth after Canales and Chory Castro combined to set him up. To add to Levante’s woes Deyverson was sent off after picking up a second booking for diving in the area, and many disgruntled fans left the stadium before the referee finally called it a day.
