Real Madrid stay within a point of joint leaders Barcelona and Atlético after they won 0-1 at Real Sociedad on Saturday evening. After the midweek Champions League game Zidane was missing the injured Ronaldo and Benzema, and once again the onus was on Bale, the Welsh flanker going close two or three times in the opening twenty minutes. Nacho had a shot blocked before the break, and Rulli had to make a couple of saves from Bale after the restart, and the locals only troubled Keylor Navas with a couple of half chances at the other end. With ten minutes to go though Bale got above his marker to head a Lucas Vázquez centre past the local keeper, and despite a late flurry from the home side, the points were in the bag.
