Athletic Bilbao are up to third after they beat Sevilla 3-1 on Saturday, the Basque side moving above their opponents after a fourth win in a row. The locals got off to a strong start, Raúl García, Williams, Beñat and Aduríz all trying their luck before San José opened the scoring following a set-piece corner. Some ten minutes after the interval Nasri levelled it with a bouncing shot past Kepa after the keeper could only push out a cross from Sarabia, but midway through the second half Balenziaga restored the lead, running on past Mario before beating Sirigu with an angled shot, his first goal for the club. Kepa had to save from Sarabia after that, but with the game coming to an end Aduríz clattered in to Sirigu, and the keeper retaliated with an elbow which cost him a red card. As all three substitutions had already been made, Iborra had to go in goal, but Aduríz calmly stroked the spot kick past him for the final result.
