Girona were just three minutes away from a historic win against Atlético Madrid in their first ever match in the top flight this Saturday, but in the end they had to settle for a more than respectable 2-2 draw. Two headed goals from Stuani before the break gave the Catalans the lead, and the visitors were left with ten men when Griezmann was sent off for insulting the referee midway through the second half. However Correa got one back with twelve minutes to go, and Giménez headed a last gasp equaliser to save a point for his team.
