Second Division - Day 17

The Friday night game between Osasuna and Nàstic was called off due to heavy snowfalls in Pamplona. Both teams actually came out on the pitch to warm up, but the snow kept falling, and after a half hour wait the referee eventually sent the players and fans home. A new date will be set in the following days. (01.12.17)

Huesca moved three points clear at the top pending Lugo’s game on Sunday after a 3-1 win against bottom club Córdoba on Saturday. Gallar and Melero put them two up at the break, and Ferreiro got a third immediately after the restart before Sergi Guardiola got a late consolation for the visitors. Rayo Vallecano are up to third after they beat fellow promotion contenders Granada 1-0, Dorado getting the only goal following a corner with three minutes to go. Oviedo are in to the top six after a 0-2 victory at Lorca, Rocha and Linares getting the goals in the first quarter of the game to leave their hosts still in the relegation zone, a point below Barcelona B, who lost 2-1 at regional neighbours Reus. A José Arnáiz penalty cancelled out Haro’s opener, but Lekic got the winner for the locals after the restart. (02.12.17)

Huesca end the weekend two points clear of second placed Lugo after the Galicians could only draw 1-1 at struggling Sevilla Atlético on Sunday. Carlos Fernández gave the locals an early lead, but Bernardo Crus made it all square after the interval. Cádiz are just a point behind Lugo in third spot though after they won 2-0 against Albacete, Kecojevic and Dani Romera getting the goals to make it five wins on the trot for the Andalusians. Numancia are fifth after they came back from two down to beat Valladolid 2-3, Mata netting twice for the locals in the first twenty minutes, but Nacho, Carlos Gutiérrez and Guillermo replying for the visitors in the second half after Olivas was sent off. Sporting and Tenerife lost ground on the teams above them though after both lost, the Asturians beaten 0-1 by Zaragoza, Delmás getting the goal midway through the second half, and the Canary Islanders losing 2-1 at Almería, Juan Carlos pegging one back for the visitors after Marco Motta and Juan Muñoz had scored for the home team. Earlier in the day Cultural Leonesa and Alcorcón drew 2-2 to remain in the lower reaches of the table, Rodri and Ariday twice giving the locals the lead, but Jonathan Pereira and Dorca levelling it both times.
