The match postponed from week 3 between Rayo Vallecano and Athletic Bilbao due to the closure of Rayo’s ground finally took place on Wednesday, 24th October, a 1-1 draw leaving both teams still struggling in the lower reaches of the table. Raúl De Tomás had a strike ruled out for offside before Pozo fired the locals into the lead midway through the first half. However half time substitute Raúl García tested Alberto a couple of times before his looping header came off the post to allow Muniain to poke home the equaliser whilst lying on the ground with just over an hour on the clock. Rayo stay in next to bottom spot, with the Basque side three points above them, just one point above the drop zone.
