A new format for the second division this season, with the third promotion spot to be decided by a play-off phase between the teams finishing in third to sixth position (actually fourth to seventh as Barcelona B finished third but were ineligible for promotion). Elche and Granada made it through the semi-finals, and will meet over two legs in the following days. (12.06.11)
