Sponsorship appeal

Over the past ten years, we have maintained this website on a fully voluntary basis and have repeatedly declined offers from betting companies to advertise on our site because we are not in favour of promoting on-line gambling. In the current crisis, however, we need to generate some funds in order to be able to keep up this website for the millions of readers all over the world who rely on it for news and information about Spanish football.

Far from acknowledging our modest contribution in supplying a wealth of information to English speaking fans of Spanish football, LFP (La Liga Nacional de Fútbol Profesional ), the organisation representing the top two divisions of the Spanish football league, decided to stop us from using the name La Liga Shop and have recently succeeded in doing so when the appeal court finally ruled against us on 17 April 2009. All this meant additional costs for us.
