Wins for the big two in the Champions League this week, with Benzema opening the scoring for Real Madrid in a 4-0 victory over Olympique Marseille, and Iniesta and Villa on target as Barcelona beat Viktoria Plsen 2-0. 2-1 defeats though for Valencia and Villarreal at Bayer Leverkusen and Manchester City respectively, and in the Europa League on Thursday Atlético also lost 2-0 at Udinese. Athletic Bilbao did save a point though against Salzburg, two second half penalties from Llorente making it 2-2 in the end.

Messi couldn't score on Wednesday, and he was frustrated again on Saturday as Barcelona were held to a 0-0 draw by Sevilla. Real Madrid didn't fail though at Málaga, Higuaín getting the first and Ronaldo clocking up a rapid hat-trick as Mourinho's side ran out 0-4 winners. Neither Barça nor Madrid top the table at the moment however, Levante having that honour for the first time in their history after winning 0-3 at Villarreal. Juanlu scored the first two to take his tally to five, and Koné adding the third, his own third goal of the season. Elsewhere Hemed and Falcao both scored from the penalty spot as Atlético and Mallorca drew 1-1 (Hemed's fourth penalty in three games), Soldado got a last minute equaliser in another 1-1 draw against Athletic Bilbao, and Raúl García got the first of Osasuna's three against Zaragoza.
