No red cards in the quarter final, first legs of the cup, not even in the tie between Real Madrid and Barcelona (now there's a novelty!). And there were only three at the weekend, with Fazio (Sevilla) getting his marching orders for a second bookable offence late on in Saturday's derby against Betis, and De Marcos (Athletic) taking the long walk after giving away a penalty in the Sunday game at Real Madrid. Earlier in the day Albelda was shown a straight red for a late tackle on Timor at the end of the game at Osasuna, the Pamplona based side equalising from the resulting free kick. The Valencia captain usually racks up a lot of bookings, but we can't remember the last time he was actually sent off. Must be getting old?!? Otherwise five more players will have to sit out next weekend's round of games after picking up their fifth bookings of the season, Diego and Gabi (Atlético Madrid), Tissone (Mallorca), Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid) and Barral (Sporting Gijón). A fairly quiet week really, all things considered. (25.01.12)
