Peace returned to the fields of play at the weekend after the record eleven red cards in the mid-week round of games. Barcelona's Thiago was the only player to be sent off this time around, and even his red card was overturned by the disciplinary committee after they decided that his second yellow card for handling the ball was invalid, video evidence proving that he played the ball with his shoulder. Ten players will however miss next weekend's matches after they completed the five yellow card cycle, including Michel (Getafe), Nyom (Granada), Navarro (Sevilla), Botía (Sporting) and Jordi Alba and Soldado (Valencia), all of whom picked up their tenth bookings of the season, and Pedro Ríos (Getafe), Borja (Granada), Christian (Racing) and Bruno (Valencia), who were all given their fifth.
