Sergio Ramos is now the Real Madrid player with most red cards in their history after he picked up the 16th of his time at the club last weekend. Ramos was shown two yellow cards in less than a minute early on in the match against Rayo Vallecano, just a few minutes after he scored his side's second of the day. Only two other players sent off this weekend, Levante's Nikos for a second booking at Real Sociedad, and Valencia's Tino Costa with a straight red for hitting out at Mallorca's Pina in the first half of Sunday's match. The Ches still won it 2-0 though. All three will be banned next weekend, together with seven more players who completed the five yellow card cycle, Spahic (Sevilla) with ten, and Paulao (Betis), Siqueira (Granada), Javi Márquez (Mallorca), Lolo and Miguel Flaño (Osasuna) and Lass (Rayo Vallecano) with five. (19.02.13)

PS. Nikos and Siqueira were let off one yellow card each by the appeals committee, and both their suspensions have been lifted. (20.02.13)

(* suspension pending disciplinary meeting decision)
