Two red cards this weekend, including a second of the season for Espanyol's Víctor Sánchez, who was shown a second yellow card late on in the match against Sevilla on Sunday evening. The day before Athletic Bilbao's Aduríz was given his marching orders after an off-the-ball incident with Levante's Simao, who fell to the ground theatrically. Aduríz made matters worse though by using insulting language to the referee, and he was given an extra two match ban as a result. Both will in any case miss the first round of matches after the international break together with nine other players who picked up their fifth bookings of the current campaign, including Aarón Ñíguez and Rubén Pérez (both Elche), Rafa (Getafe), Pedro López (Levante), Jesús Gámez (Málaga), Oriol Riera (Osasuna), Gálvez (Rayo Vallecano), Fausto Rossi (Valladolid) and Jaume Costa (Villarreal). . (13.11.13)

PS. Aduríz was let off his red card on appeal, but he still has to serve out the two match suspension for telling the referee that the sending off was a f**king disgrace, which if the appeals committee is to be believed, it was!

(* suspension pending disciplinary meeting decision)
