Funny old game football, ain’t it? The midweek round of matches produced a record haul of ten red cards, but this weekend there weren’t any at all! We can only think that our men in black were a bit miffed about having to turn out during the week, asking their day-job bosses to let them have time off to travel, explaining to their wives that they wouldn’t be able to help with the kids and the washing up and all that, and they took it out on the players. Otherwise statistically it doesn’t make any sense at all! Eight players will however miss next weekend’s games after completing the five yellow card cycle, Theo Hernández (Alavés), Roque and Livaja (both Las Palmas) and Enzo Pérez (Valencia), who all picked up their tenth bookings of the season, and Carcela-González (Granada), Diego Rico (Leganés), Pablo Fornals (Málaga) and Vitolo (Sevilla), who were all given their fifth.
