One of those rare weekends this time around when not a single red card was shown in the ten league games! Nine players will still be missing from the next round of matches though after they completed the five yellow card cycle, including Pezzella (Betis), who picked up his tenth yellow card of the season, and Jonas Martin (also Betis), Arribas, Carles Gil and Guilherme (all Deportivo), Lejeune (Eibar), Ingason and Wakaso (both Granada – trying to impress new boss Tony Adams?) and Isma López (Sporting), who were all given their fifth. Interesting to see as well that the Real Madrid and Barcelona players who were close to suspension managed to keep themselves clean on Saturday, and (with the notable exception of Neymar, who still has two matches of his ban to run) they will all be available for Saturday’s “clásico” in the Bernabeu stadium.
